“I’m grateful for the chance to introduce myself. My name is Hoda, I’m originally from Iran and I moved to Sweden in 2021 to begin my master’s program at Lund University. “
“I have studied Applied Renewable Energy Engineering and it is the real-world applications that really interest me. As part of my bachelor’s degree in physics, I studied solid-state physics, which gave me a good understanding of the basic ideas behind materials and energy.
I continued my education at Lund University and got a master’s degree in Sustainable Energy Engineering after getting my bachelor’s. It was a great experience to study in Lund and take classes that focused on modifying and distributing energy, like energy engineering and solar thermal and photovoltaic systems. This experience strengthened my resolve to help find solutions to the world’s energy problems in addition to honing my technical abilities.
As for my work experience, I got the chance to enhance solar dryers that are used in Bhutan as part of a ten-week research cooperation between the University of Lund and Bhutan. I have been able to hone my skills in working in interdisciplinary teams and put my academic knowledge to use in real-world situations thanks to these opportunities.”
“After seeing the growing effects of climate change and realizing the importance of finding cleaner and more efficient energy solutions, I decided to pursue a career in renewable energy with my engineering enthusiasm. In addition, being part of a revolutionizing movement and playing a key role in the world’s transition to renewable energy sources was highly motivating for me. Being part of a community of professionals committed to making a positive impact on the environment fills me with pride and I am determined to make a significant contribution.”
“I am currently working at Absolicon as an industrial PhD student. My academic background and my interest in finding sustainable energy answers make this a perfect fit. The focus of this project is to create a new selective coating for the solar collectors to enhance the thermal conversion efficiency. The coating should be competitive in terms of cost, optical qualities, and thermal stability, while also being made in a way that can be scaled up, repeated, and lasts for a long time.”
“With technical challenges, I use an organized and analytical approach to problem-solving. My next step is to formulate a well-defined strategy or plan of action based on my understanding of the problem. The process usually begins with brainstorming potential solutions and evaluating their feasibility, taking into account factors such as time constraints, resource constraints, and project objectives. I think it’s important to work together with others because different points of view can lead to new ideas.”
“I like the fact that sustainable technology development is a priority for the company. Absolicon considers all aspects of solar collectors’ environmental impact, including their materials, manufacturing processes, and overall impact of their use.”
“I have spent a lot of time with my friends and met a lot of new people since I moved to Sweden. During nice weather, I enjoy discovering the lovely nature around here. I also enjoy social activities, like sports events, language cafés and clubs. One of my favorite things is to watch new movies at home during a tough winter.”
“In a rapidly changing world, the ability to adapt and learn continuously is invaluable. The ability to stay curious, whether it’s about your career, personal interests, or global issues, is one of the keys to personal growth, and a deeper understanding of the world. Remember that learning is a journey, not a destination, each new piece of knowledge is a step toward a richer life, and everyone has a role to play.”
