In tests at The Swiss Institut für Solartechnik (SPF) in Rapperswil Absolicon T160 Solar collector has shown to have an efficiency of over 76 %. The highest number ever achieved for a small parabolic trough.

The solar collectors are during testing directed toward the sun and the thermal energy generated is measured accurately at various temperatures.

The durability of the solar collector is also tested by loading it with over 500 kg and blasting it with a pneumatic cannon charged with 25 mm hailstones. The collector was also heated to its maximum temperature and then rapidly filled with cold water.
